I posted a while back about using a metal file cabinet carcass as a basis for building a wooden file cabinet. Here is the result. Not perfect, but good enough for my needs

What did you use for the wood? ¼ inch plywood? It definitely came across a lot nicer than a metal filing cabinet. What glue did you use to attache the wood to the metal?
Yes, 1/4 birch plywood. I attached 1/2 plywood (stuff I had hanging around the shop) to top and bottom using screws. Then attached 1/4" with nail gun to that. I did use liquid nails to hold down the wood where nails and screws were not possible. But mostly used the finish framing to hold it all together (it was cut tight, glued, and held in place with pipe clamps).
Edit: There are different kinds of Liquid Nails. I used one that was recommended for wood and metal.
