Talking Show me your favorite Pen and finish Combination

Having fun starting Christmas presents early, mixing different local woods with Chrome, Cold, and Gunmetal Pen Kits. Can you show me your favorite combinations of wood and metal finish?

    Lots of pics, please !

Here's one I did in a Gent Jr. type pen in Amboyna burl with General Finishes Woodturner's Finish. It has become my favorite finish for pens as it is highly durable and polishes like glass. I wipe ~10-15 coats on, wet sanding every 4th coat or so with 320 or 400. The final coat gets cut back with 400 or 600 wet and polished with a Beall wheel and white diamond compound. The second one has more bling and is an Ultra Cigar in Amboyna burl with the same finish. The picture doesn't show the gloss on the finish as I was trying to eliminate glare, but it looks like glass in room light.

Vertex magnetic kit with an acrylic/burl blank and CA finish. I really like the gel pen and the magnetic cap - it is pretty unique.

I do not like gold at all. Black titanium, chrome, gun metal, rhodium are all good for me and work well with just about any wood

Favorite regular woods - Bethlehem Olive wood, cocobolo, Irish bog oak Or just about any kind of burl Here's a few...

Most wood gets a ca finish Sometimes stabilized wood is buffed without added finish there are exceptions

The wood in the second from the left is amazing. What is that?

As far as kits go, I like Majestic, Triton, Baron, and Cambridge kits with all the higher end finishes. As far as woods go I love all burls, olive woods and combinations of woods because I like to do segmented work. I finish all my woods with CA as the finish. Here is a couple examples.

Bloodwood and curly maple for the first one and Gabon Ebony and Holly for the second one.

If they are lined up the same on my mobile browser, the second from left on top is blue dyed stabilized box elder burl. (With the cap off)

The bottom second from left (metal cap) is maple burl with purple resin.

Yup. It was the blue-dyed one that I was asking about. What a great effect.

I got that one from Barry Gross at Arizona sillouette.

There is no finish on it. The stabilized wood buffs up nice and there is nothing to wear off.

These are bolt action pens. The first is Gun metal / Ash Burl. The second is Gold metal / Ash burl. These are both finished with CA, buffed with Tripoli only.
