Brian,
The tube is covered with Aluminumand copper tape, that has been textured and colored with a black patina and cast in aluminite. Opens up a whole bunch of ideas.

Brian,
I can't seem to decide which combination of Pens I make are my favorite. Here is a few that I have made for our annual MG car show this June at MG2014 at French Lick, IN. You be the judge......

Ken, I guess the ones with the most contrast are my favorites - the far right and the celtic knot third from the left.

Brian - Bethlehem olive wood is really easy to work with and has some nice contrasting grain in many of the pieces.
Dan, what color metal do you like the best with olive wood?

I have carried this on in my pockets for about 4 years now. Pants pocket with keys when no shirt pocket. The plating is just about worn off the metal but the CA finish on the Olive wood is like new. Modified it a while ago to add the tip for my tablet.P1012070.JPG

Rick,
That's good to know that the CA finish last so well. I use the CA finish with Micro Mesh to 12,000 for every pan I turn.

I use CA for all of mine, 2 coats of thin to soak into the wood and seal any pores then 8 coats of medium. I do not sand between coats. Then I wet sand with 2000, 2500 and 25000 grit sandpaper then plastic polish.
