Unusual German Style Horned Wood Plane

I really like German style wood planes, and found this and couldn't resist... no markings, and it shares characteristics with both Ulmia and ECE planes. Maybe from Denmark (JPBO Topps) or Sweden? Maybe it was made for Bahco by Ulmia or ECE? Limited Edition?

Don't know, but it should be a good one. Looks like the sole is lignum, it's without primus (which is a bonus to me) and it has a lovely swedish blade in place of the normal ultra cheap chrome vanadium blade that's in ECE planes.

Thanks, I can't wait to sharpen the iron this weekend to try it out.

    What's the whanger for?

To keep the plane on it's best behavior?
I never find things in this condition - it looks like a showroom sample.

    You suck, Dude.

I have a plane exactly like this, purchased from a fellow Creeker a few years ago. Same Bahco blade. Mine has "Denmark" stamped on the heal.

Maybe it is a JPBO TOPPS then, from Denmark. I have another long plane from them:

Pat, the Ulmia and ECE smoothers have this adjustable mouth just like a LN or LV LAJ have.

The plane does seem Danish and could well be made by JPBO. The abbreviation stands for Johan P Bendixen of Odense. Bendixen is the surname and Odense is the city where H.C. Andersen was born. Danish auction sites seems to be stuffed with similar, but more ordinary hand planes with identical chip breakers made of steel. The Bahco stamp would suggest that the cutter was made in the Berg factory, but after the company was taken over by Bahco. The merger took place in 1959 whereafter the chisels and place cutter were marked with the Bahco name and Berg shark. SO if your cutter and plane are a original pairing, then the plane was made some time after 1959.
Regarding the sole section. Is this not a sliding section which moves by turning the screw on the top side of the plane?

I see now. I missed the screw on the top side. Thanks for clarifying

This kind of plane was made by Hans Schrøder's Toolworks in Denmark. Here's a page from one of their catalogs. Their trademark is JACK, so you may call your plane a jack reform plane
