We'll put all that on the back burner. Now, about this Disston D8?IMAG0037.jpgAwaiting some work on those teeth, and a finish on the toteIMAG0038.jpgMight be ready for a close up?IMAG0039.jpgRepaired tote.

Crescent moon and star is also the logo of Mathieson. Islam too.

If by the way that simonds plate drilled.....there was full temper in most of the plate, just out by the toe, for about 6" or so, was badly "burnt" and floppy. Teaser for nowIMAG0037.jpg No money was needed for this. Just a pile of extras, sitting around. Tote is still a work in progress. had to drive that spline on, very tight fit. Plate is very straight, too, no kinks going on.

Well, that being said, these are Simonds MFG Co. BoltsDSCF0003.jpgwith a patent date too...

Well, now that a coat of oil finish is on the Disston D8, how about a look, or two?IMAG0037.jpgthe show off sideIMAG0038.jpgaand a non-showy side. Not too bad for a $2 saw???
-
Excellent for a $2 saw. Looks like it will cut well too. Have you tried it out yet? Xcut or Rip?
Enjoy the saw dust !

Awaiting the finish to dry, for now. ppi looks like 7, no stamp on the plate. Has a lot of set to it, MIGHT just be a crosscut. Just might be a keeper?
