From the Helix manual which can be downloaded from Epilog website.
All Epilog model 8000 laser systems require an exhaust fan that is rated
at a minimum of 400 CFM at 6” of static pressure 680 M3 /hr. at 150 mm of static
    pressure.

I have looked pretty hard to figure out what 6" of static pressure means. I bought a cfm meter and was gonna invest in a manometer...yet I did not want to spend any money for something I did not understand. What is static pressure?

Frank ,This is the first laser that I bought and do not know very much about them other than the things I read online here on SMC which has been extremely informative. The reason I asked is because I have an old DC from a wood shop that is rated at 553 cfm. I was just trying to cheap out if possible. As to what i am going to engrave… not sure yet. Thanks for the info.
