    Blooming Iris Intarsia

After building some cabinets, I worked on this Intarsia. It is from a pattern by Judy Gale Roberts and uses, red oak, cherry, hickory and yellow heart. It is about 7" x 17".

The pieces were cut out on a scroll saw and then shaped using a flex drum sander on the leaves. The flower parts were shaped using a flex shaft dremel and a combination of carbide cutters and small drum sanders.

Excellent ! I love the way the leaf traverses the frame.

Very nice. It looks deceptively simple but is a very nice piece. My wife has many iris plants and something like this would be very nice. Have to put it on my to-do list.

Very nice. My Wife would love something like that.
I haven't done intarsia, yet. Something like this might be the kick start I need.
