    General Tablesaw-No 45 degree cuts!!!

I have an older General tablesaw.
When I tilt the blade to make 45 deg. cuts, the blade insert is kicked up by the actual mechanism that holds the splitter.
I remove the splitter and I can remove the insert, but the splitter anchor protrudes the table surface.
I may be able to include pics tomorrow.

I had to position the top of my PM 66 to keep the blade from hitting the insert. I bumped the top until the blade was to the right of center (left tilt saw), then ran the blade 90 to 45 and made sure it was clear before tightening it down.
