    Red oak vessel

This is about 10" diameter with Wipe On Poly finish. The oak had some interesting mineral staining. Comments and critiques welcome.

Just about perfect in every respect--who said RO isn't pretty wood?

I like the lower body section profile, but the neck seems to raise a question in the profile shots. I'm sure that it looks better up close. The color sure does not look like red oak unless you helped it out more than just a straight wipe on poly.

The color is certainly not typical of red oak but it is red oak with one coat of pure tung oil and several coats of WOP (no color added).
