Lightbulb How to make a woven wood panel?

I'd like to make some panels of a construction similar to this, but smaller for a laundry hamper:

Anyone have any information on how to enclose a wooden weave in a frame like that? I'm finding a lot of chair/basket related info that's usually not wood strips and not enclosed in a frame.

Ash makes for good basket-type weaving. Soak the strips in water, maybe overnight, then weave. Leave extra length for trimming. When a panel is completed, making sure it's square, press it between some kind of sheets or forms with ventillation to allow it to dry flat and, when dry, it should keep its shape. It could then be treated like a panel, albeit somewhat floppy, and put in a frame. Trim with some kind of shears, like snips or something (I used medical scissors), as the ash strips will badly chip when cut with a sawblade.

I wove baskets from strips of ash this past Easter.
