    BIG LEAF MAPLE BURL VASE (nearing completion)

    13.5" tall x 5.5" wide x 1/8" thick. I'm making this for a friend of mine that introduced me to woodturning. I'm going to add a Brazilian Rosewood base to finish it off.

  2. Once you get the base on that is going to be one beautiful vase.

  3. Yeah.........that one has a lot of pizzazz, Thomas. I sure hope you will post more pics when you get that rosewood base on it.........quite a looker!

    Love the wood and shape. You did it very well. I'm not sold on the rim personally. Nearly all of my turnings have a natural edge at the top but the only ones I find distracting are the ones with partially natural and partially finished edge, IMHO. Looking forward to what you do with a base. Not sure that it is needed to enhance the vase.
