Here is another recent piece. This was a trial to see "can you do it". I wanted to do a goblet that was fully pierced including the stem....so.. there is a 1/4" hole down the entire length of the stem and the foot is thinned up to the stem as well. The result was a piece that was darn close to 1/16" everywhere, fully pierced and nothing for weight! Now that I got that out of my system, I probably won't do it again (at least just like this). The end product is a bit fragile.
Hard maple, 6" x 2 1/4", 1/16" walls, tung oil.
