Great idea John. I may do that - put a emergency light on a slatwall cleat and wire in a plug. I am going to want one by the mezzanine's steps but not sure where it will be. It most likely WILL have a plug nearby though.

Jim, I saw a guy on garagejournal wrap his exposed pex in diamond plate - it looked awesome. Building my plasma cutter machine maybe I will get creative. I prob should at least box it in play. That pex has been like that for 3 years now. Your idea is valid though - and now you have just jinxed me - THANKS!! lol
Glad its my shop I am responsible for - I only have to make me happy.

PEX will become brittle and break down over time with direct UV exposure. Covering is a great idea. We boxed ours in with wood, but the diamond plate would look pretty cool. Putting a metal cabinet in front of it to store your glue and finishes would be a nice way to protect the pipe and keep your stuff warmer in the winter.

There is no direct exposure to uv light on the pex but covering is a good idea to make sure of that.

Have 5 panels left on the south 64 wall, only one with an outlet, and I started the west wall as the south wall butts up to it. The work on the west wall took care of the second set of light switches too so that jumble is out of the way. Making progress.

I rounded the south west corner last night so the first 64' wall is now walled! Need to get the air line ran on that wall soon.

What a great idea!! I need one of those.

    hook.jpg

Did you buy it new or find it on Craigslist? Is it OSHA approved? Were you able to install it yourself or did you have to hire it out?

I am so glad you showed the use or I would have been puzzling all day.

Ingot 1/2 way done on thursday. I have s video of that on youtube. Bloomingtonmike videos.

Started some rapidair maxline air line install today. Look close at the top of the south wall's 2x12. I snapped a line from the west end to the east end so that there would be fall back to the compressor that will be on the east side. I still have to put in the fittings beside the garage doors but there will be the compressor connection line and five tool port drops on this south side.

The first picture is the maxline straightener. It works great.

Made a mistake yesterday and sloped towards compressor. I changed that to slope away from compressor this morning and also I installed the five drop lines. Pic shows four of them.

Mike, at first when you started installing the slat wall, it seemed weird, but now that it's up, I really like it.

It's looking great Mike. You should talk to Chris Padilla about designing some curtains for your windows & doors. He's a master at it.
