Advice please : Using a wecheer rotary tool to decorate turned pieces

    Hi y'all

A couple of months ago, after a brief try out, I bought a Wecheer rotary tool to use in conjunction with my turnings. The machine performs OK, but I feel I am not getting the best out of it. I have a few ceramic rotary burs, but wonder if I should be using something else. Although the tool is sold mostly for carving, I intend to use it for making pattern on the surfaces of my turned work pieces, such as plaques.
Surely others have been there and done that before me.

Do you know of any good sources of advice, Videos etc?
Thanks in advance for you input.

I use a Fordom and use the carbide spiky one's. Clean them with a brass brush and some times a pencil torch to burn the wood out then the brush. I use Fordom brand or Kutzall ( spelling ) Most Woodcraft sell one or both brands.

carbide rotary burrs and steel burrs will work better. the trick is to let the tool do the work.

    Thanks guys.

I've bought a couple of small carbide burrs locally and will give them a try today.

    Wish me luck!
