    What's this? A rabbiting jointer?

    Out at the local flea market today and spotted this. Guessing user made, but for what to you think?

    I apologize I didn't get a photo of the other side, but if iirc the fence on the bottom was removable and with the kicker is on the same side as the fence. Isn't odd that the fence would cover the knicker? Also, look close at the iron, its been repurposed.

    I didn't buy it.

    A couple of centuries ago almost every endeavor of mankind involved wood.

    A lot of processes changed as more industry was created to make goods in a more efficient manner.

    A plane like this could have been used in many endeavors or could have been specially made for just one.
