New tool, but wife is the gloat

I had put money aside from this year's bonus for a couple of tool upgrades, specifically a new 8" jointer and 15" planer for the new shop. After exploring a number of possibilities, new Grizzly's, used machines, I finally came to the conclusion that the best approach was a combination 12" jointer/planer to save space and to have a wider jointer.

After looking over all the options 2 that looked the best were the Jet JJP-12HH or the Hammer a3 31 with helical head. Really liked the Hammer but by this time my machine funds had been eaten away by various household things until the Jet seemed the choice from a monetary standpoint.

I was talking this over with my wife and she said that I wouldn't be happy unless I got the Hammer and offered to throw in $2K from some savings she had.

    The Hammer was delivered yesterday.

Great gloat. But ... as you state in the thread title, the gloat is really about your wife.

Traditionally, here at Sawmill Creek - if there aren't any pictures, it never happened!!!
