    Why hasn't anyone mentioned TableSawTom?! For that, you can buy a vintage 7 AND have it flattened by Tom. Or buy one directly from him

    Yeah I saw that this morning when the kisat came out. I have made a deal with Table Saw Tom for a 607/7. Thanks for thinking of me when you got your list.

  5. I'd like to pitch in that just about any of the vintage brands will be quite a bit better than the new Stanleys. I have a Sargent VBM and an Union plane which are both nice workhorses and both my drawknives are house brands which are not well known but pre-war but work nicely as well.
