    Stanley Type 4 #4 1/2...?

I acquired a plane the other day, description was vague,
but to me it looked like a Stanley 4 1/2 pre-lateral.

It does have a chip out of the front rail, a Sargent type 2 iron,
everything else points to Stanley type 4.

Except the frog seating is not a H design on the sole, almost looks similar to a Bedrock in appearance.

Any help or opinions on it would be welcomed.

Here is the sole and frog

Might add frog seat's on bed perfect, even though it has been painted.

Picture of brass adjuster just cleaned up...could not read anything through the tarnish and grime.

Pre laterals 4 1/2 are kind of rare I believe, so there is very limited info on them.

That frog receiver is correct for a type 4, and so is the adjusting nut with the patent dates inside.

I have a pre-lateral #4. It sits in a display case. It is a sweet performing plane. The tote is especially nice to the touch.
