    Best dust collecter hose diameter

I need to connect a 1hp dust collector with a 5” inlet to a Super Dust Deputy cyclone separator that has a 6” outlet. The length is less than 5'.

To maintain the maximum vacuum, is it better to

A.- Use a 5-6” adapter at the dust collector and 6” hose to the cyclone
    -or-
B.- Use a 5” hose from the dust collector with a 5-6” adapter at the cyclone

I had a similar situation and I was able to bring the devices close enough that I only used a 5 to 6 reducer/adapter. Flex hose kills your performance so I eliminated it completely. If you can't id go with the bigger diameter hose so you don't drop your CFM

Is it possible for this adapter to be a hard line? The best BEST would be a "whatever length you need" piece of sheet metal tapering from 6" to 5" to make the transition.

Otherwise, it is typically best to maintain the larger diameter part of the system as much as practicable.
    Wood: a fickle medium....

Did you know SMC is user supported? Please help.
