    MDF trim question

Has anyone used MDF casing for triming around doors? Any issues?
Is MDF easy to cope for inside base corners?

I have not used this product before.

I've used it for baseboards, but never door trim. I'm not sure that the MDF would stand up as well as wood does to the abuse that door trim gets.
As far as coping goes, it is easy with a sharp saw but as soon as the blade starts to dull it turns ugly fast. And the point at the apex of the cope has to be babied until everything is in place. It's much easier to deform or break.

MDF doesn't take abuse well. It is nice to machine and cut (other than the deadly powder sawdust from it) but dings easily. I would look to finger-jointed trim assuming it will be painted...stands up to abuse much better.
    Wood: a fickle medium....
