    4th Axis Machining on a Turkey Box Call

    Guys...
    I made a demo video for a guy interested in seeing what a 4th axis can do for a call maker. Toolpath generation with VCPro and a few rotary positions added.

    Turn the sound down, my webcam mike doesn't like cutting noises.

    Sorry, I don't finish them. I do those types of projects as a "proof of concept". I don't make products, I make the machines that make products. Or adapt a machine for a special purpose, most often beyond what it did when it was manufactured.

    What are you using as homing switches on the 4th axis?
    Glad its my shop I am responsible for - I only have to make me happy.

    An inductance proximity switch that uses a target bolt that was drilled and tapped into the headstock shaft, then turned.

    An update to this thread. Due to the length and bad sound, I have made a faster speed version of this Box Call video and removed the cutting sound. These box calls are sound chambers that amplify any bit noise during cutting.
