    Quilted Walnut Keepsake box

I had some quilted walnut veneer left over from a bigger project. It was just enough to make a keepsake box 13" x 9" x 5". The previous project was finished in General Finishes Seal-a-Cell and Arm-R-Seal, which was dark and not easy to see the quilting. This finish is General Finishes Polyacrylic and is lighter with better contrast on the quilting. I would appreciate any comments, positive or negative. The hinges are Brusso; I like their nice stops. The feet are recessed so the box appears to float.

Looks great. I really like the way Curly Walnut looks when finished.

Sharp lookn box John,The inside of the lid is just as nice as the outside in a different way.I don't care so much for the latches on the front.Great idea with feet. Thanks for sharing Aj

The form and proportions meet my ideal.

The latches don't measure up to your handiwork.
    Maybe if they were darker?

Beautiful wood and nice work. I agree that the latches take away from the piece. Maybe they could be replaced with a contrasting carved wood latch mechanism if you want it to latch?

Thanks to all for your comments. I have to admit the latches are the weak elements here.

Looks like a fun build. I like the simplicity. Very neat work.
