Went to the Tool Group Of Canada meeting this morning, picked up a Miller Falls #2 drill and a bag of knives. One is a Mora, which sharpened up nicely, but I am not sure I like the guard on it. All my whittling and sloyd knives have no guards, will have to carve a spoon to see if it gets in the way when I'm working. The handle appears to be figured maple. I didn't mess with that (yet), will wait and see how it works. The other knives are a set of 4 graduated Opinel folders. Two were new, never honed, and seemingly never used. The other two had seen some use, but all honed to a keen edge in a few minutes. Now I have lots of spares for a spoon carving seminar at the Three Ravens gathering in Rochester this Febr'y.
To top off an already great weekend, tomorrow is the Tools Of The Trade sale in Pickering!
