    Compound joints galore!

I posted this under woodcarving but it is as much woodworking as it is carving. This is a layered 32" chip carved star that I just finished. The edges are stained and the surfaces were bleached before chip carving. Basswood was the choice of wood for this one. All compound cuts so precision was a must because of the layers. When I made this I started by making the main star then added the layers. Tons of time in this one.

    Wow.

If Odin had a tree ornament,
    it would look like yours.

    Kudos

Roger, it's really dynamic. What was your go-to tool for the cuts .. miter saw ? .. table saw ? Did you make it for a specific purpose or occasion ?

The key for me on this piece was my Bosch Dual-Bevel Glide Miter Saw 12". Without the saw I could not have made the piece. I made this piece for a couple woodcarving shows I have coming up.
