    Built-in design/construction questions

    Longtime lurker, first time poster. I am trying to replicate the below built-in as my first attempt at built-ins! Go big or go home right? Anyway, I'm doing the "right" thing by planning first, so I've modeled up the carcasses in sketchup last night. Am I on the right track on how I'm breaking these up? Opinions? comments?

    The dimensions for my opening are;
    Length - 122 1/2"
    Depth - 22 1/2"
    Height - 83 1/2"

    My sketches are to scale, however I don't have exact measurements in front of me as I am at work at the moment. Gaps are for face frame.

    Painted white finish, baltic birch for cases, poplar for faces!

    Sure, that's a good start.

    I don't understand why the module containing the TV is inset, but if that's the look you want...

    Flush drawers and doors are somewhat trickier than overlay drawers. (That's why most kitchens have overlay ones.)

    Baltic Birch is overkill for painted carcasses. Ordinary maple veneer over softwood core works just as well, and is less expensive.

    Where are the TV's support electronics going to go? Y'know, cable box, games console (for downloaded movies), etc.
