    American Flag cutting board

Hey guys, I'm looking to make a cutting board for some friends that were just married and I'd like to do it as an American flag. I've got the idea that I'll use Ash or Oak for the white. But what woods could/have people used for the blue & reds. I can't use stains, right?

    Thanks in advance!

Bloodwood would look nice for the red. Im not sure about the blue though

Here's an example of a flag cutting board...he used maple and cherry for the strips and purpleheart for the union.

I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.
