    Walnut & Cherry Dinning Table

My first large build. I am not completely happy with the base design, I may change it after I gain more experience. Three chairs are on the build list.

Beautiful material. What did you use for a topcoat? A great thing about tables is that if you decide to alter the base, the top can stay.

It looks really sturdy. What finish did you use?

If you're going to seat kids on the benches, this is a very good design.

Put the kids likely to kick each other with the pedestal between them.
    I like the table.

    The carpet? Not so much.

You must have kids. The bench has been perfect for seating them. The carpet is old and does indeed need to go.

I used 3 coats of Waterlox primer followed by 1 coat of Waterlox satin finish. Thank you for all of the feedback.

It's a beautiful table and bench set.
It looks strong and straight forward. It's not simple. It has a steady character.

    Good Job !

    No question.

Beautiful top and the base will serve well with kids--as will the carpet there will be plenty of time to slim the base later...

That's a pretty top for sure and I think the base design is interesting. What method did you use to edge joint the pieces to make up the tabletop?

Thank you for the positive feedback. I am encouraged to keep developing my skill set.

I used a domino every 5 inches to joint the boards. The breadboard ends are a dado joint with floating pegs.
