Folks, I have to share a positive HF story--and I can tell you, I don't have many.

Bought, after huge investment of research time, a HF 12" sliding compound Miter saw--Item #42818--knowing full-well that it was no DeWalt or Makita. $170+ $9 s/h

Arrived a week ago -- damaged--but still usable. Notified HF Customer Service and they were MILDLY interested in figuring out what was broken or missing.

TODAY called a local HF store, and they went through--"--we can't take it back--sorry--corporate policy--" to "--bring it in and we will replace it--".

WELL--after driving one-way 45 miles in 110 degree heat, the manager that promised to replace it MEETS ME AT THE FRONT DOOR--offloads the bad part from my truck and whips me thru the process of replacing it with a Model $150 more expensive (#91852), and then loads it for me and shakes my hand!! NO CHARGE! 15 minutes!!

Great--if only the HQ corporate CS staff were that knowledgeable and helpfull.

I'll be shopping 45 miles each way from now on.

Rockler is great at customer service as well..not tha HF has been until NOW.

Thanks Mr. Manager, and HF for hiring really smart people.
