Making more cool stuff with my laser.

Check it out. Did a run of wooden keychains last night that we designed using hand crafted lettering for a fundraiser (helping raise money for a friend's kid who is battling brain cancer).

    Here are a few pictures:

I left a bit of masking on the e and a in that second picture. Whoops!

Thanks so much. He's had a really rough time. Been bed ridden, and unable to communicate for about 6 months. He's currently in the ICU with some horrible complications. It's been a roller coaster, but he's an inspiration and one tough little man.

It's amazing how many people Joe has inspired, even Chris Pratt (Star Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy) has been helping spread the word.

    Hi Jay,
Did read the story, he is one brave little man. His dad would have been so proud of him as he really has a battle on his hands. All the best.

We have a policy here of not permitting links to donation sites. I concur that this is a worthy cause and I hope they raise a lot of money. More importantly, my hope is that the boy is cured.

Looks great Jay. What kind of wood did you use?
I read recipes the same way I read science fiction. I get to the end and I think, "Well, that’s not going to happen."

    Oh, sorry. Didn't realize that.

If anyone wants the link, you can PM me and I'll send it to you.

Actually it's 1/4" A1 Maple Plywood with an MDF core. My buddy at bklzr.com in NYC recommended it to me. It's inexpensive, looks great, and works fantastically for high volume runs.

The trick is finding it cheap.

I get my sheets of cherry for $56 and maple for $70ish.

I can't tell from your pictures but a jump ring, s hook or plastic key ring clip attached to the piece then attached to the keys will take some stress off of the hole in the attachment.
