    Ramp design for electric wheelchair

Got a front porch that has 2 steps on it . Well, 3 steps if you want to count the porch floor . Might have to install a wheelchair ramp someday and want to know the design requirements for them. There is a long (34 foot concrete walkway (2x 3 foot concrete pavers leading up to the front porch and a row shrubs along the front of the house on both sides of the porch.

Would the angle be too steep if I just installed it on the front steps ?

You might want to spend some time with Google. There's lots of info.
    Here's a couple of links: http://www.mobility-advisor.com/whee...amp-specs.html

Most likely. Your local building codes may have some guidelines to follow.

Yeah, I was going to say, most places have building codes that apply and if you don't do it right, they'll make you rip it out and do it again.

There are federal regulations dealing with wheel chair ramp access. While they may not apply to a private home, you would be best to comply with them.

Google "Wheelchair Ramps" for some good info.

Remember, to provide enough clearance for turn around and door clearance.
