Wood River Tail Vice as Wagon Vice?

This may be an ill advised, poorly researched question, but its late, and I am interested in hearing your thoughts.

I am going to build a hybridish, Frid/scandi bench soon. I am thinking that I am going to forego the traditional tail vice for a wagon vice in its place.

I am researching the wagon vice now.

I was looking at the Wood River Tail vice hardware and trying to figure out if there might be some way to utilize one of the czec or asian tail vice assemblies available as the basis for a wagon vice build.

has anyone any ideas along these lines? has anyone done this? or am I still too behind the wagon vice curve, and in need of more research?

Jim....Fantastic!!!!! I was just looking at these tail vices, and trying to decide if there was a way to get a little "beefier" construction in a wagon vice configuration. I thank you for the link, I will read further and maybe contact marko.

After re-viewing my Aussie friend with the Roubo video, I am beginning to think that I am WAY, WAY, WAY over thinking this wagon vice.
Paul, you are spot on. I think a modified version of Marko's design, using a good quality bench screw, and some tinkering, is more than enough for what I am having in mind. Thanks for redirecting my thoughts to keeping things simple.

Here it is in use. This idea I found from Chris Schwarz. Simple maple chop with a short dog in it. The quick release is really nice, too.

This is a cool idea, maybe for one of my aux benches, but still, nice and tidy.
