    Cyclone Spiral Ramp Question

    The spiral ramp of my cyclone is just spot welded to the inside of the intake barrel, would it be more effective if I seal the length of the ramp/barrel connection with silicone

    If you are talking about the ramp inside near the top of the cyclone, then it is probably just a cosmetic improvement. The only good time to do it is at the initial install.

    Anything near the barrel needs to be a perfect seal. Cyclone separation efficiency drops significantly if any outside air leaks in near the barrel and your filters will clog really fast.

    It is the initial install thats why I figured I'd find out because I can get at everything right now.
