I used a pocket screws to attach a 2" long piece of 1/2" cherry. It split, and make a replacement would have taken a couple hours.

I worked some thin glue in, leaving the pocket screw in, and clamped it for a few hours. A week later it is still good. Permanent fix, right?

I dunno, Wade.
I'll tack on a chipped corner,
or lifted veneer, but not something structural.
