Can anyone tell me the appx length of a Stanley #40 plane iron?

Hi, making a new plane iron..I know the iron is 1 1/4" wide (originally 1/8" thick but am going thicker than that)..Does anyone happen to know the appx length? Also if Im not mistaken its a 3" radius, correct? Thanks

It looks like the Hock irons are 7" long for that plane. Lie-Nielsen lists their radius at 3", which is probably original spec.

I have 3 of different vintages - 2 are nearly straight and one is greater (less curve) than 3" radius. I guess it depends on how aggressive a cut you like or want to take.
