Two Hands on the Saw Handle

I was watching a Roy Underhill video and noticed he had two hands on the tenon saw when cutting a board in the vise.

    I don't recall doing that.

Do any of you use both hands on the saw? I can see that if you hold the saw handle like it is a baby bird, the saw would be able to follow it's own track.

I typically use only one hand loosely on the handle. I also find the position of my feet and body to be important. I like the pictures Chris Schwarz showed in some of his articles.

I've never done it with a backsaw, but I have when ripping with a full size handsaw.

I'll use both hands on a solidly clamped board... its like single bucking with a shorter stroke.

For cuts like dovetails or tenons my left hand fingertips are usually near the cut guiding the saw plate.

On a long rip both hands are on the handle once the cut is started.
