    Bethlehem Olivewood Shaving Set

I love the grain in the brush handle. Finish is CA glue.

    Spider Web figuring

When you can get this material with the spider web figuring it's really spectacular and it's such a pleasure to work and finish.

    Those are some nice pieces.

This piece was fairly unique but I get stuff with nice dark lines pretty consistently.

Especially in smaller sizes like pen blanks.

    Olive without grain is dull!

I don't post as much of this small stuff here but here is a set of olivewood cufflinks I made.

Dan,you don't look old enough to know what cuff links are! Last time I saw any mention of them was about 1965. Nice work.

  8. Nice shaving set and cufflinks........lookers all! Nice work, Dan!

The shaving kit has been on my bucket list for quite some time. Thanks for posting Dan, it's a reminder for me to do something but also what wood to use. Nicely done.

    Dan, beautiful shaving set!

Ron, great figure on those pieces. Are you retrofiting a hand plane? Would love to see the finished product when you're done.

    Not a retrofit

Not a retrofit Dan. This set went on a tool I made in June of 2014.

    Ron,

The bog oak does. I like a more natural looking finish on pens etc with no oak but that doesn't fly for shaving sets. And it finished nicely here.

The other set is basically plastic. No finish is added - it is polished and buffed.
