    Wet sanding arm r seal

My approach for grain and very small grain fizzures filling in walnut:
2 coats first , let it dry for 24 hours prior to sanding
wet/dry 400 grit and thin the arm r seal with MS. It dries fairly quick and I'm thinking a 25% thinning will aid the sanding?
Light sanding with the grain and wipe off excess.
    Comments welcomed.

GF does say you can wet sand. You are right - they say not advised.
I've wet sand tru oil on gun stocks and thinning makes the wet sanding much better due to how quickly it dries.
Manufacturers dont like deviation from their boilerplate approachs.

You can thin it if you wish. If it goes on better for you, then go for it. Arm R Seal works fine thinned (at least when I've thinned it) with MS.

However, it IS formulated as a wiping varnish already, so there's no real NEED to. You may find that it slurries up fine without thinning.

The times I've thinned, it's only been say 10%. Towards the bottom of the can, I do notice it can become a tad thick, when I might put more MS to get to a working consistency.

Arm-r-seal dry sands well with 3m FreCut Gold P400 grit.
