    Oneida Bag Hold-downs

Can some of you who've invested in the plastic hold-down device from Oneida comment on what material it's made of, how well it works for you, and exactly what makes that piece of plastic worth fifty bucks? The pictures remind me of a device I used to have for holding trash bags open when raking leaves. Not exactly a $48 item.

Anyone have a more economical suggestion for a 35-gallon drum?

    Thanks!

I finally figured out how to deal with sawdust in my hair.

    I shaved my head.

The only thing that makes it worth the $$$ is that it works. It is just a piece of plastic with grab holes which is sized correctly. I tried a couple "homegrown" solutions (cardboard, scrap Formica) before ordering. IMHO they should include it with every barrel sold.

I used the corrugated plastic sheet. I cut it to fit inside of the drum (I used a 55 gallon drum) and cut two rings to hold it in place. Works well once you get the hang of it, and is pretty cheap.
