    Bondo Blunder?

I made the speaker boxes for my friend's boat. After 3 months of thinking about what wood to use (he will paint them, and my guess it is a party boat); Mahogany.

    They turned out great.

I posted here before re: this project, and Bondo was suggested as a filler.

So, I put the Bondo on this AM in the little seams/gaps, and part of it I didn't put enough red hardener in it, an hour later it is still ever so little tacky. Grey color. It is getting harder.

The classic reddish areas from a diffo batch this AM hardened right up.

What should do? Will the Bondo that is more grey and slow to cure eventually be OK? I put hardener in it-apparently not enough to turn the red (I wanted more working time)

Humid environment to come to this project

Do I just give it more time? Maybe put under some heat lamps?

Do I have to be patient?

I would dig it out and re-apply.It's easier to fix now than later.

Yep. It can stay plastic for days. It may eventually harden, but I'd agree w/ digging it out and redoing it.

Maybe try wiping pure hardener on the gray areas first? If it works, all good. If not, time to dig it out.

I'm for digging it out ... it will never cure properly without sufficient hardner and anything you apply over it will be compromised
