    Coolibah Burl Turning #3

This is the 3rd turning in my coolibah series. Including the stand, this piece is 16 1/4" W x 17 1/2" H x 3" D. I have titled this piece "Bursting Forth." I have one more piece left to turn and I am hoping to get it finished later on this month.

Very nice work! It's a good looking burl and you certainly made the best of it's shape.
    I fish, therefore I am. I woodturn when I can't fish.

Nicely done Steve! What are you using for a finish?

Very nice piece Steve. I really like the addition of the radial lines from the bowl portion.

No, it's not thin enough yet.

    Thanks for the complements everyone.

Ken-I use a three part solution of BLO, Danish Oil and Poly. Most of my turnings I will dip it in this solution, but since this was such a big piece, I "ladled" it on and then wiped it off. Once dried/cured I Beall buffed the whole thing.

Scott--This was my first attempt at putting in radial lines. There was too big a space around the bowl area not to do something with it. So, I thought I'd give it a go.
