Cool Turned a pile of pine boards into a

Kitchen Island? Well, here'tis after a coat of Primer ( The Boss wanted it painted for HER kitchen)

a 7/8" dowel rod for a towel bar. Drawers do work, though

As you can see, just white pine, and some pine plywood. legs came from a couple scrap 2x4s. I ripped them right down the middle, then crosscut to 30" Top is a three board glue up, with bread board ends. The few supplies I had to but for this project came to under $30. The "boxed" in end has a door, and will be to hold cookie sheets and such. She already has one drawer loaded with hot pads! Bottom shelf is 1/4" pine plywood from Lowes. The door is 1/2" plywood scrap i had. Top is about 16" wide, by 38-1/2" and stands just over 31" tall.

The starting point for this was a pile of old pine boards I found
    1x6 x 120.jpg
and included a pair of 3/4" x 6" x 120-1/2" Bought a 1x3 for the bottom stretchers, and a pair of 1/4 x 24 x48 plywood panels. Add a pair of brass hinges, and a magnetic catch. The rest was "on hand" Nice little project for the house.

If the boss is happy, everyone's happy! Well done.
Funny, I don't remember being absent minded...
