    Scrollsawn Wood Duck

I was moving some junk to make room for a cabinet I'm making to store my handsaws in and found a pattern for a wood duck which was published in the former Creative Woodcrafts magazine. The next day I came across a piece of walnut which was going into he burn pile due to a large knot, I checked the pattern against the walnut and it fit so I ran it through the planer and planed it to 3/8" and cut it out, turned out OK for something that was going to be burned.

I just love to see good scroll saw work. I don't think we see enough of it on SMC.

Nice work, Dave! One man's junk is, or becomes in this case another's treasure.
And my Minnesota eyes tell me that's no ordinary duck--it looks more like a Common Loon (no reference intended to anyone on this board ).
