I attended the 2005 Woodworking in America Conference in Williamsburg Va.

As you may remember, at that time Roy Underhill was renown for all of the cuts on his hands. While at the conference, during a break, I met Roy at the coffee shop. Roy, being accessible to everybody, was the center of a group of attendees.

I carried band aids in my billfold in those days, because I had frequent cuts as well.

I approached the group and after introducing myself, ask Roy for his autograph. He consented, so I pulled an unused band aid out and presented it to him. Everyone laughed and Roy graciously autographed it.

I somehow misplaced it, but this morning while cleaning out an old book bag, I came across it. It was dated 1-10-2005. I am happy to find it, and it will not be misplaced again.

I wonder if Roy still has the cuts. I doubt if he remembers this incident, but I sure do.
