    It's done!

    Hi ,

Some of you may remember the chairs in which I made and posted about 3 months ago. Well, I finally finished the table and everything is in the house. Some 400 hours and $1000.00 dollars later I am ready to clean the shop and persue some of my other hobbies. This project did burn me out!

I hate it when I do that

Maybe the 2nd picture will come out better.

    Looks good!

    Nice work Craig

I love the design of the top. The frog pull is a nice touch. I can't wait to get my shop set up and make something ... not quite of that quality level, most likely

    Beautiful, Craig, Beautiful!

Did you design this yourself or did you have plane, I really like the style of the chair and if it isn't your design, could you point me to where to get it, I'd apprecaite it.

Again, Great Job on that set - Fantastic Finish as well!

Very nice work, I actually like the large picture, you can really see the quality of the work and the finish in this one.

The significant problems we encounter cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.

The penalty for inaccuracy is more work

Thanks for the compliments, the project was testing my attention span and patience.

Dale, out here on the left coast everything is more expensive.
Cherry goes for $7.00 a bd ft for 4/4, $8.00 a bd ft for 8/4, it took more than 100 bd ft for the set. O.K. lets figure in the foam and chair coverings there's another $75 bucks. How about the three different glues that was used?, There's another $50 bucks, How about the hardware, biscuits, sandpaper, the finishing materials, misc mat'ls for tools that I did not have at the time to finish what I needed to do. Then lets figure in the cost of gas to go and get what you need to finish the on time task not to mention all the incindentals. Yep, it was a $1000 bucks plus some.

It was something that I really did not want to do when I started but what I ended up with is something that I could not buy at the store!

Kurt, The table design was mine, the chairs came from a magazine from the early nineties. PM me for some additional info.

Dave, I've done enough chairs. Anything past this is coming from Wal-Mart!

Gorgeous set, Craig. Design, material choice, execution, and finish are superb. Sorry to hear it beat you up in the process of making it, but you ended up with a dining set worth far more than the cash spent. Hopefully you'll look back at it soon and laugh.

(And I can relate to the left coast material costs.)
