Mr. Holtey retires.

Read it first on the ukworkshop forum, and indeed, Karl Holtey is making his last plane and goes into retirement:

I wish him a long and healthy retirement. I've always admired his work and dedication, allthough his planes are exactly opposite to what I am looking for in a plane. They are true works of craftsmanship and his determination to create the ultimate is to be admired. It has been fun to follow his blog.

That seems a great loss. Wonder if he's going to continue producing stock products like plane irons?
