What is 1/8" deep, 1/8" wide, 1/2" long and red?

The dado in my finger tip after using bad table saw technique cutting a small piece of wood.

But I'm feeling much better now.

Glad it wasn't worse. Could be a good time to ask permission for a Sawstop! (I don't have one either)

All those safety rules are to protect you. That is the reason you are to set your blade so it is barely above height of the board. Imagine if you had the blade set 1/2" above your work.

I am just trying to decide the best treatment plan - cauterize with a soldering iron or just take the edges down with a belt sander.

Brian, just dip the finger in your DNA to kill the germs and then apply some CA glue and then spray with accelerator.

That's a decent bite of meat. Heal quick and thanks for posting. Every post like this helps counteract those goofs who recommend unsafe procedures and then say things like "I've been doin' this for forty years and never . . . . "

I'm glad it wasn't much worse, it could have been. Things like this always remind me of the risk I take in my work.

Try a finely tuned block plane to take down the edges.

Really glad you're OK!. Could have been much worse.
