More Stuff - Must be a Good Week for Rust Hunting

A friend sent me some old tools from a clean out of a friend's garage.

    Some planes:

Not sure what the use of these saw like devices could be:

    Saws? & Bevel Gauge.jpg

The bevel gauge was pretty dirty and the blade was broken along the length. The wood was all pretty dirty and cleaned up with a few swipes of a plane. The blade of the bevel gauge is some very dark wood, not sure what.

The saw things look to be home made:

The back on one looks to be tubing that extends through the handle.

Then something was listed on ebay as a moulding plane:

One shot of the end in all the pictures and I knew it was worth the minimum bid:

With shipping it came to less than $20 for the snipe bill. A quick sharpening and a little tune up and it is working fairly well.

    Hi Jim,

It looks like you did pretty well with the planes, and the molding plane looks like the pick of the litter. Cool!

I think that snipe bill was one I almost bid on, but already have a pair to use. I'm glad I didn't bid against you, and you got it. Mine came from similar auctions. I've done well with molding planes listed incorrectly, and with wedges pictured backwards and such.
