    Slightly OT: Soap Molds

Do any of you know how custom soap molds are made, or have equipment to make one?

I have a client who needs a one-off soap mold and I am not familiar with that process at all.

    Thanks!

Yup, laser engraved from acrylic and grade engraved to achieve easy removal.
    You did what !

Or, if you have a cnc machine available, you can get more depth and a faster cut.

I have lasered many molds out of acrylic though.

The way I've seen it done is to carve a bar out of wax or epoxy, then vacuum mold some plastic around it. One of the mold shops around here makes chocolate bar molds that way around the holidays.

Wow, thanks so much. Would any of you like the referral? My laser has almost no play in the Z axis, so I'm sure I can't do it.
