new focus tool for universal versalaser HDPFO lens

Hi
I have searched but couldnt find the help I needed. I lost my focus tool for my machine and cant remember the exact procedure for finding the exact height. Anodized aluminum with 5% power and a vector line to find the smallest point? Can I do it on wood instead? Its a 2.0 HDPFO lens versalaser 460
