    Craftsman Lathe Tool Rest

I have a 12" Craftsman Wood Lathe, with the standard 12" tool rest that came with the original lathe. I am looking to find a smaller tool rest (6inch?) as the 12" is too big for most of the work I am doing. Does anybody have suggestions as to where I would be able to find one, or what specs I should be looking for?

Alan, what you are looking for can be found at almost all retail woodworking stores. What you need is the diameter of the tool rest support shaft and the length of the shaft - as measured on the stock tool rest. I used to have a Craftsman lathe and I picked up extra rests from Woodcraft - but I am sure most retailers will carry rests for you.
